A $142K C6 ZR1 and $620K Viper ACR: Analog Cars Are Booming

The Analog Boom: A 700-Mile ZR1, A 1-of-31 Viper ACR

Every new car launch these days comes with a battery pack, a turbo-four, or both. So it's no surprise the collector market for naturally aspirated, manual-transmission American performance cars is heating up fast — and two deals we just brokered at BIDR make that case better than any market report could.

Industry trackers are seeing the same thing from every angle. Motorious's rundown of the hottest 2026 collector segments puts "analog performance cars" at the top of the list, naming the Dodge Viper specifically alongside the Porsche 911 and Acura NSX as cars from "the final generation before advanced driver assistance systems and electrification changed driving." Hagerty's 2026 Bull Market List frames the late-1990s-through-2000s as the last sweet spot of "analog modernity," with younger buyers driving much of the demand for anything with a clutch pedal and no safety net.

The backdrop makes it easy to see why. Dodge replaced the V8 Charger and Challenger with an electric Daytona. The Mustang is now sold as both gas and EV. Chevrolet's new Corvette Grand Sport X leans on a hybrid powertrain for its biggest performance number. None of that is a knock on where the industry is headed — but it does mean the supply of naturally aspirated, stick-shift American halo cars is fixed and shrinking, while the buyer pool for them keeps growing.

Nowhere is that scarcity more obvious than in two cars we recently brokered for a client: a 2017 Dodge Viper ACR Voodoo II Edition and a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Both are the top-shelf version of their respective platforms. Both are essentially new. And both closed at prices that say a lot about where this market is headed.

The Voodoo II Viper ACR

The fifth-generation Viper ran from 2013 to 2017 — just 2,427 cars total before Fiat Chrysler shut the Conner Avenue plant down for good. Officially, the Viper's run ended over slowing sales; several reports at the time also pointed to the cost of re-engineering the car to meet federal side-curtain airbag rules (FMVSS 226) for such low production volume. Either way, it meant one of the last naturally aspirated V10s ever sold in a road car, paired with a manual transmission, went out of production for good — exactly the kind of car the current market is rewarding.

ACR was always the Viper's ultimate expression: an 8.4-liter V10 making 645 hp and 600 lb-ft, a 6-speed manual and limited-slip diff, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes (a first for the Viper), adjustable Bilstein suspension, and an Extreme Aero Package — a carbon splitter, towering rear wing, and diffuser generating well over 1,000 lb of downforce. Equipped that way, the ACR set 13 production-car track records across North America.

For the Viper's 25th anniversary and final model year, Dodge built a run of 31 Voodoo II Edition ACRs — a tribute to the 2010 original Voodoo Edition, right down to the Venom Black paint with a Graphite Metallic driver's stripe outlined in red, silver interior stitching, and a serialized badge on the dash. It's the rarest ACR variant ever built, on the rarest Viper generation ever built.

So how does $620,000 stack up? Pulling recent transaction data from classic.com, the two most relevant public comps are both Voodoo II Editions that traded in early 2023: one sold for $417,500 at RM Sotheby's Amelia Island (chassis No. 29 of 31, 1,825 miles), and another sold for $418,000 at Mecum Kissimmee (13 miles). Those are the clearest public benchmarks for this edition that exist. Our brokered deal cleared both of them by roughly $200,000 — a sizable premium, even accounting for those sales being nearly three years old and this being an exceptionally thin market where a single buyer can move the number. For a car this rare, that's less an anomaly than a signal of where genuinely motivated buyers are willing to go.

The 2009 Corvette ZR1 — Blue Devil Reborn

The C6-generation ZR1 marked the Corvette nameplate's return to the top of the supercar conversation after a 15-year absence, and GM engineers reportedly nicknamed the development car "Blue Devil" along the way. Under the carbon-fiber hood — complete with a clear window over the supercharger — sits a 6.2-liter LS9 V8 making 638 hp and 604 lb-ft, backed by a 6-speed manual. Chevrolet claimed a 205 mph top speed and a 3.4-second 0-60, and a preview car ran the Nürburgring in 7:26.4. Across its full 2009–2013 run, only 4,695 ZR1s were built — 1,415 of them in the debut 2009 model year alone.

This particular ZR1 is also equipped with the top-tier 3ZR content package (commonly listed as "3LZ" in the classifieds) — adding a 7-speaker Bose audio system, navigation, a power-adjustable steering column, a head-up display, and extra leather trim on top of the ZR1's already-loaded base spec. It's the most fully equipped way to buy a car most owners bought to drive hard, not to option out — which makes a true 1-owner, 700-mile example that much harder to find.

Checking classic.com's recent transaction data for the C6 ZR1 confirms the direction the market's moving. The most recent confirmed public sales are a 169-mile 2009 ZR1 at $117,000 (GAA, November 2025) and a 273-mile 2010 ZR1 at $121,000 (Bring a Trailer, September 2025), with other clean, low-mile listings asking anywhere from roughly $93,000 to $125,000. At $142,500, our brokered deal lands comfortably above all of those — consistent with a documented, single-owner, 700-mile car being a genuinely different animal from the already-low-mileage examples setting the recent comps.

Why Buyers Use BIDR to Broker Deals Like These

Cars like a 1-of-31 Voodoo II ACR or a true 1-owner ZR1 rarely show up on a public listing site — they trade through relationships, dealer networks, and people who know where to look. That's the service we provide. Whether you're trying to source a specific car that almost never comes up for sale, or you own something special and want it placed with the right buyer discreetly, BIDR's brokerage team handles the sourcing, vetting, negotiation, and logistics end to end.

If you're chasing something in this category — Viper, Corvette, or otherwise — we'd rather help you find it than watch it trade somewhere else.
